Your Responsibilities
- System Definition & Requirements Management:
- Derive technical system requirements from customer specifications; create and maintain system specifications (optical, mechanical, electronic) with clear traceability.
- Optical System Design & Analysis: Design and evaluate optical architectures (illumination, imaging, metrology) in close collaboration with the optics team; perform tolerance analyses and error budgeting.
- Verification & Validation: Plan and conduct evaluations; derive test cases from system requirements; assess measurement results against specifications.
- Leadership of interdisciplinary development teams in the role of Systems Lead; perform trade-off analyses; manage risks at the system level.
- Technical coordination with customers in Europe, the USA (Silicon Valley), and Asia; present system concepts and results at a professional/technical level.
Your Profile
- Completed degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field – PhD welcome and considered an advantage.
- Understanding of optical systems: geometric optics, wave optics, imaging systems, illumination design.
- Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies is an advantage.
- Familiarity with measurement techniques and optical characterization (interferometry, MTF, wavefront analysis).
- Experience with optical simulation software is a plus but not required (Zemax/OpticStudio, FRED, LightTools, or similar).
